BEF to Leamington Courier article 2013
A recent article by the British Equestrian Federation to the Leamington Courier
Radway Riding School http://www.radwayridingschool.co.uk/ which has operated as family business for over 33 years has recently been in the news featuring the following successes:
- Successfully attracting £13000.00 of funding from the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) to build a round pen facility to help increase participation in Equestrian sport. The funding which is allocated to the BEF from Sport England was matched funded by the centre to increase the facilities to cater for varying needs of its customer base from nervous adult to children with learning difficulties. The facility was officially opened on 18 February by Andrew Finding – Chief Executive of the BEF
- Sky Sports News and ITV central have recently been filmed at the centre, featuring the new facility and the centres support for ‘hoof’ the Equestrian legacy brand of the BEF which aims to get more people riding. Jo Shuker a grandmother from Leamington Spa, started riding at the centre in June on their Take Back the Reins programme and has lost 4 stone and regained her fitness after a life threatening health scare.
- Just last week, Radway were successful in securing additional funding for sportivate riding programmes from Coventry and Warwickshire sport which aims to offer riding opportunities for young people aged 14-25 in the local community.
- The Boswell Family who have ran the centre for over 33 years have a real heritage in the area in being an equestrian hub offering fantastic advice, customer care for the first time rider right through to serious competitors who wish to excel in other riding disciplines. Indeed, Jonathan Boswell and Henry Boswell are both advanced championship dressage riders/coaches who all link to the centre.
