The past few weeks at Radway have been very busy to say the least, so I thought it would be good to have a round up of what's been happening at the school.
We have welcomed new ponies, new clients and also a new instructor to the Radway team!
Our four new ponies arrived two weeks ago; Flash, 7 year old chestnut gelding and Beauty 12 year old bay mare are already proving to be very popular with our children at Radway . Amii a 14.2 bay mare and Blueboy a 13hh grey gelding are proving very popular with our staff who are riding them at present.
The Take Back the Reins course continues to be hugely popular and is enticing more and more people to get back in the saddle and rekindle their love of riding. We are seeing more couples riding together too which is great, mostly ladies who have ridden as youngsters are now bringing their partners along to try it out. Our ride n' strolls are perfect for this as you get to have an initial assessment in the new round pen which is both safe for horse and rider. Then choose from a farm ride or take a little ride into the village of Radway; we really are so lucky to be in an area of outstanding beauty.
Our clients are enjoying the stable management side of it as much as the riding itself, they are covering everything from plaiting and bandaging to feeding and tacking up. We are now offering a stable management course which will cover all aspects of horse welfare, ideal if you are looking to purchase your first horse / pony.
And finally to our new instructor. We are delighted that Keith Richards BHSI (Reg) has joined us at Radway. In the short time Keith has been with us he is already proving to be a hit with our riders and also building up his own clients. Keith has spent the last 19 years at a riding school on the Wirral and has now relocated to Warwickshire. Keith's wealth of experience is great for Radway as we will now be able to offer more BHS courses. Like our other instructors at Radway, Keith is passionate about delivering quality lessons to our riders and ensuring our horses and ponies are exercised safely and correctly.
Keith is proving to be popular with both our young and older riders which is great! During half term, Keith along with one of our other instructors Emma Stoba, arranged a fantastic week of activites for the kids....show jumping competitions, riding to music plus lots more. We are looking at expanding on our pony club and riding club activites in the coming months so watch this space!
