V
Max, a 6-year-old Dutch bred gelding by Gribaldi, is following his
successes last year, being placed 9th at the National Championships
in the Nuumed Potential International Dressage Horse Championship
and 3rd in the DHI Challenge, is working with enthusiasm at medium
at home, and showing solid progress with his changes and pirouettes,
showing that all the movements up to Grand Prix are well within
his scope.
Skyrocket, a syndicate
owned 6-year-old German bred gelding by Sandro Hit out of a Romadour
11 mare, will be making his debut in British Dressage competition
shortly. This very talented horse is being produced slowly to ensure
that he will in time be the best that he could be.
Sadly, just this week,
we have taken the decision to retire DHI Winddancer from competition.
Despite making great improvement with his Grand Prix level work,
he is not consistently sound enough to compete, and have therefore
withdrawn him from the Inter 1 Freestyle at the Winter Championships.
Henry will however still be performing the Rocky Horror Quadrille
at the 2008 Winter Championships with Annie Perry, Lara Griffith
and Charlie Hutton partnered by DHI Faederlite, the great horse
that was Prix St George Freestyle Champion with Henry in 2005.
Basilio, an 8-year-old
German bred horse by Beltain, owned by Lisa Moyes is moving on from
his 7th place at the National Championships at Medium in 2007. This
superb 18hh gelding will be making his advanced medium debut in
2008.
Henry also is training
Maybe, a 17hh, 4-year-old mare by Sandro B, out of Annabel a Danish
bred mare trained to advanced medium by Dawn Johnson. Maybe will
be contesting 4-year-old classes in 2008.
We
embarked on a new venture in partnership with Biddi Lewis, Sinelli
B’s owner, in 2007 to breed a foal from the successful
mare Sinelli B that partnered Henry in 2006 and 2007 using embryo
transfer technology. We transferred 3 embryos into 3 recipient mares,
but at the 60 day scan only 2 of the mares were in foal. These mares
are expecting their “twins “, by the stallion Rubinero
in July 2008. Sinelli B is continuing her career partnered by 14-year-old
Emma Nixon who is based at Radway and is training with Henry. |
